CAREER FAIR

A career fair was hosted in the premises of the school on December 19 & 20, 2011 with a view to provide our students with an opportunity to explore the plethora of career options available after school. Several big names in the field of quality education as Pearl Academy, Excel Institute, Trendz -Institute of Fashion Technology, Edwise International, K R Mangalam University, AAFT etc. made their presence felt in the fair. Several leading schools of Delhi took part in the two day long extravaganza. Children put forth several queries regarding various career options which were suitably answered by subject experts.

JUNIOR SPORTS MEET

Sports Meet for Primary and Montessori department was celebrated on December 23, 2011 which included following activities Rabbit on the Race, Cycling Race, Lets go to Shopping, Winter Funk Race, Ready to School Race, Collect and Run Race, Lemon Race, Coin Drop Race, Balloon Race, Fill up the Basket, Throw Ball, Pass the Ball, 50mt Run, Hurdle Race, Long Jump, Skipping Race, Tug of War (6x10), Three leg Race, Obstacle Race. Mr Harbinder Singh (Olympian), Arjuna Awardee was the Chief Guest. The yoga presentation and the Taekwondo display conveyed the message that sports for fitness and good health should be a part of our daily life. It was great to see children perform with such precision, dexterity, flexibility and accuracy. The highlights of the day were the cycling race and Balloon race by the tiny tots of Pre-School and Pre-Primary which left everyone present enthralled.

FINANCIAL MELANGE 2011

“Financial Melange 2011” was organized from July 22 to 29, 2011 for Commerce and Humanities students. It was an extremely motivating and inspiring week as the students marketed the fest as a brand and provided useful financial information to all the students of the school. A workshop by SEBI was organized on efficient utilization of money. Activities like “SELLATHON” and ‘BIZ-QUIZ’ engaged the students and tested their business knowledge. PRISM-2011 explored the impact of Indian Economy on UK and globally. The icing on the cake was AD-MAD competition which entertained the students and teachers alike.

TEACHERS’ DAY

Teachers’ Day is that momentous event where students engage in unbridled capacity to shower their love, adoration and respect on their teachers. The day was power packed with sensational performances by the students. With respect and reverence, the students had the teachers moving on to foot tapping dance they presented.  The students’ programme paved way to reliving a momentous journey – a success saga of prominent accomplishments crafted with subtlety, care and love by the School Principal.

CLEAN DELHI GREEN DELHI

Students participated in Cleanliness Drive on September 23, 2011. Students of classes IV and V participated in the activity. They displayed slogans, banners and placards on cleanliness. Everybody came with hand gloves, paper bags etc to clean the area. The spirit was infectious and inspired one and all to do their bit for our Delhi.

Our tiny tots also participated in Cleanliness Drive on January 17, 2012. Various activities were conducted such as Flower show, Rhyme dramatization, sapling plantation and also a rally to reiterate the message of cleanliness.

INVESTITURE DAY

To cultivate deep and unfaltering sense of responsibility in the students, Investiture Ceremony was organized on August 12, 2011. The event began with a peace song followed by Pageantry of Prefects and Oath taking ceremony. The Principal pinned the badges on to the elected members and motivated them to carry out their duties with sincerity and efficiency.

MODEL UNITED NATIONS

The school hosted its first Model United Nations on January 12, 2012. The students of class X participated in discussions on topics of great importance to the international community. The students represented 23 countries of the world. The event generated interest in world affairs of great importance in this fast changing world. Students got an opportunity to employ a variety of communication and critical thinking skills in order to represent the policies of their respective country. These skills included public speaking, group communication, research, policy analysis, active listening, negotiation, conflict resolution, note taking and technical writing. It was redeeming to see students adhere to the rules and maintain decorum of the real United Nations. The event was graced by Ms Bharti Kalra, Ms Shalini Kaushik, Ms Shipli Dwivedi and Ms Priyanka from PROMISE, who encouraged the students and praised them for extensive research done by them.

THE 14TH ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATIONS

The school surmounted yet another milestone in its marvelous odyssey towards perfection. School’s 14th Annual Day was a momentous mega event that put on record the enchanting excellence of cultural performances and achievements. The school celebrated its 14th Annual Day on November 13, 2011.Prof Rajni Abbi, Honourable Mayor of Delhi was the Chief Guest for the day and Padmashree Ranjana Gauhar was Guest of Honour. Dr Nitin Malik, Jt Registrar, GGSIPU, Prof Anu Singh Lather, Director, International Affairs, GGSIPU, Mr Sachin Khurana, former Mr India and other eminent guests graced the programme with their illustrious presence.   The programme initiated with an exhibition that celebrated individual talent with the theme ‘Celebrating Myself’. The ballets were not just with thunderous performances and music but also provided food for thought. School orchestra infused the audience with ecstasy.

WINTER CARNIVAL

The school organized Winter Carnival on December 11, 2011. It saw a footfall of more than 15000 visitors and was also graced by distinguished members of the management. The Guest of Honour was Ms Shibani Kashyap, renowned Singer and Mr Sachin Khurana, Former Mr India. Hues of all variety clamoured for attention in the form of game stalls, food stalls and joyrides. The star attraction of the day was Baby Show where the little ones vied with each other for their share of star dust.

DHOOM 2011

Dhoom 2011- colossal talent hunt in its eighth year saw many competitions such as Art and Craft, Instrumental Music, Dance, Super Chef and Talent Hunt to cater to interest of a cross section of students. New events like skipping, rope jump and quiz tambola stole the show.

OLD STUDENTS ASSOCIATION MEET

The Alumni Association organized a get together for all the members of ‘Old Bal Bharatian Association’ on December 23, 2011. It was a nostalgic moment for all the students as it was their first reunion. The memoires were shared by the members of OBBA. The Principal welcomed all students and enquired about their progress. The emotional quotient of the event was high as students recalled their days at school. All students enjoyed the band performance, sumptuous lunch and a dance party that followed.

SUMMER CAMP

The school opened its doors for students to engage in activities for physical development in the Summer Camp – Physical Development Programme organized from 16 to June 3, 2011. As students honed their skills in various disciplines such as Badminton, Cricket, Basketball, Football and Skating.

Their physical fitness and stamina was put to a challenge when they were taught master-strokes by specialized coaches.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Halloween costume party was organized for the students of Montessori I and II. The children were involved in decorating the venue and created Halloween decorations to hang from the ceiling. They all came dressed up in impressive and creative costumes with wigs, Halloween masks and accessories like brooms and spooky hats. Everyone had a great time dancing to the tune of creepy music, trying to scare each other.

EXHIBITION – ‘SMALL HANDS – BIG IMAGES’

An exhibition was organized on May 7, 2011. Our liliputs poured out their creativity and wove magic with their little hands on themes ‘Wildlife conservation’, ‘My feathered friends’ and ‘Handicraft arena’. The students used innovative and eco-friendly products to create beautiful artifacts. The amazing display showcased the creative talents and provided them a platform to express their imagination without any inhibition.

ART APPRECIATION

Colour Me A colouring activity was organized on May 3, 2011 for the tiny tots of Mont-I. In which children added colours to the picture of a clown. The purpose behind the activity was to inculcate aesthetic sense by making the students work with different colour combinations.

PUPPET SHOW

A puppet show was organized on April 20, 2011 for Montessori students. The story ‘The Jungle Friends’ in which wolf, Monkey and Zebra were the key characters conveyed the moral that “if you will be good to others, the same will come back to you”. Students enjoyed the story enactment immensely which was done with the help of puppets and stuffed toys.
