SPECIAL WEEKS
- GREEN SCHOOL-CLEAN SCHOOL WEEK:To imbibe in our children the importance of working in a neat and clean environment, sense of responsibility, dignity of labour and civic consciousness, ‘Green School-Clean School’ was organized from February 7 to 10, 2011 for students of Mont I & II.
- ADAPTATION WEEK:To welcome the twinkling stars of Pre- School, a zestful and enjoyable Adaptation Week was organized. Cake cutting by new Bal Bharatians marked the ‘Welcome Party’ which was followed by the ‘BINGO DANCE PARTY’ and ‘CLOWN PARTY’. Various activities aimed at helping pupils adapt and acclimatize to their new surroundings like Rhyme Time, Puppet Show, Magic Show etc were held and ended with much aplomb when a Day Camp was organized.
- SOCIAL SCIENCE WEEK:To inculcate a spirit of responsible citizenship, through activities such as skits, display boards, models and movie making, Social Science Week was celebrated from July 26 to 30, 2010.
- COMMERCE AND ECONOMICS WEEK:The school organized ‘Commerce and Economics week. The entire week was an ensemble of varied and innovative activities. The ‘AD-MAD show’ for rural products or ‘Prism -2010, the debate with a twist’, the interest quotient of the students was never allowed to dip. The ‘quizzical’ ensured that the students were made familiar with the present economic scenario. However, it was ‘Marketing Mania’ that completely enthralled everyone as the students tested their skills at selling the products manufactured by them. The lecture by the experts from Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India made the students aware of existing career prospects in Commerce.
- PEACE WEEK:To inculcate a finer understanding and appreciation of the value of peace in our students of the primary department celebrated Peace Week from August 2 to 6, 2010. They were taken for an excursion to Sri Raman Bihari Goudiya Math. They were also taught basic meditation techniques by the Brahmakumaris.
- AQUA WEEK:Aqua Week was organized from September 7 to 10, 2010, to sensitize our primary students about the importance of water and to enable them to conserve water. Children were given a demonstration on the properties of water. They were also given tips on safe drinking water. Children enjoyed colouring posters and taking part in the Aqua Rally where they conveyed the message of saving water to all.
- HINDI WEEK:The school celebrated Hindi Week from September 13 to 17, 2010. A quiz was organized to test their command of the language. An interesting feature was the 24x7 TV news channel presentation. They also explored and blended cultures by translating some excerpts from the works of Shakespeare.
- VEGETABLE WEEK:To make children aware that eating vegetables is necessary for good health and prevention of diseases ‘VEGETABLE WEEK’ was celebrated for children of classes I and II from September14 to 17,2010. Various activities like collage making, fancy dress, recitation of rhymes on vegetables and creative writing on importance of vegetables were organized.
- BOOK WEEK:The school celebrated Book week from August 23 to 27, 2010 to inculcate a habit of reading in its children and to ignite their young minds. The students indulged in a series of well planned activities such as Character Colouring, Story Cover – Paper Tearing and Pasting, Book Mark Making, Making Book Cover, Writing Book Reviews.
- MEET THE AUTHOR:To nurture the intellectual curiosity of the students, an Author Meet was organized during “Book Week” on. The children had a tête-à-tête with Ms. Anupa Lal, who has been writing for children for the last 35 years, and is a renowned author of more than 20 books. Many students shared their own stories with the author. The author concluded by emphasizing on the habit of reading and encouraging students to make books their friends.
- FRUIT WEEK:To encourage healthy eating habits among children Fruit Week was organized from April 19 to 23, 2010. Various activities such as puppet show, fancy dress etc were conducted.
- SAFETY WEEK:For the familiarization of students to safety measures, the school initiated Safety Week from May 4 to 7, 2010. A plethora of educative and thoughtful activities were conducted like First Aid Day, Road Safety Day, School Safety Day and Safety at Home Day.
